The beginning of Time Garden in Chiang Rai, Thailand
“God’s Yellow House is an Always Serving vision for restoring an existing home and garden in Chiang Rai, Thailand, into a Christ-centered place of teaching, rest, prayer, hospitality and service.”
Rather than beginning with a large resort, we hope to begin with one home—restoring what is already there, spending time on the property, listening to the land and allowing Time Garden to grow naturally from the life happening within it.
We picture missionaries and ministry families finding genuine rest, young people learning practical life and career skills through real work, friends gathering around a table, gardens producing food, and quiet places where people can open the Bible, pray and spend time with God.
The property is a tool. The people are the purpose.
A Place to Learn, Rest and Be with God
Practical teaching and spiritual restoration can live side by side.
We want young people to learn skills that can help shape their futures, missionaries and ministry families to have room to breathe, and everyone who comes through the Yellow House to have space to slow down, pray, listen and draw closer to Jesus.
Teach something useful. Give someone room to rest. Make space for people to be with God.
The Yellow House already has a story: mature trees, old timber, a creek-side cottage, garden spaces, shaded decks and rooms that have been lived in.
We do not want to erase that character and replace it with something completely new. We want to listen to what is already here, restore it carefully and let the next chapter grow from the character God has already given the place.
Some places may need to be rebuilt. Others may only need to be uncovered, repaired and given a new purpose.
A Little Whimsy Matters
Time Garden should be peaceful and beautiful, but also have a little sense of discovery—lanterns, hidden garden spaces, little bridges, water features, chalkboards filled with thoughts and prayers, curious pathways and small surprises that invite people to slow down and smile.
Joy is part of restoration too.
Can You Help Us?
We know we will need the wisdom and experience of many people.
Administrators, biblical teachers, architects, drafts people, designers, contractors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, water and drainage specialists, landscapers, growers, hospitality professionals, business and finance people, vocational teachers and others may all have something valuable to contribute.
Some of the most valuable help may simply be a conversation, a drawing, a review of a plan, a teaching outline, a week of hands-on instruction—or telling us something we do not yet know.
